If It Ain't the Truth, Spit it OUT!

There are hundreds, if not thousands of gods out there. That's just to confuse the serious truth-seeker.

I was talking to a born-again Nepalese man who told me his testimony. He said,

"Somehow I knew that if there was a God, there would only be one of them, because if He truly was God, why would there need to be another?" (I Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.)

He went on to say that God would always be arguing with Himself. Well, he came to the correct conclusion in his own way, coming from a Hindu religion where everything is a god. And, some Hindus will throw Jesus into the mix just in case He also is a god. They don't want to miss out.

My question is, "Does the truth-seeker need to go out and taste all the poison and rubbish of false religions in order to discover God?"

I think, "Probably, yes."

The thing is, once you have discovered that something is rotten and putrid, DROP IT. Don't go back to it, play with it, examine it, taste it, sniff it or chew on it. Spit it OUT. It's no good. Get away from it.

Don't compromise your faith in the One True God that you know is the One True God.

How do you know Jesus is the One True God?

If you don't KNOW that, then start where you are at. If you have DOUBTS, don't feed those doubts. If you do, you'll only make yourself miserable and confused. That's what doubts do. They confuse you. Are you confused? Are you torn between two (or three or four) beliefs?

Is it spiritually healthy to be divided?

Jesus said, "A house divided against itself cannot stand."

Ten Ways to Know that Jesus is the One True God:

1. Fruit:
  • "If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in Me, and I in Him."
  • "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Ephesians 5:11
  • "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:" Galatians 5:22, 23 (If it's not -again, not of God. Does it make you sad, frustrated, drained or angry? Probably not of God.)
2. Voice:
  • "And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers."
3. Knowledge:
  • "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving." (It's up to us to root ourselves and build ourselves up in the faith by studying God's Word.)
  • "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." Colossians 2:8
  • "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
  • "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word that ye may grow thereby." I Peter 2:2
4. Love:
  • "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love..." I John 4:8 (If it's hateful, it ain't of God.)
  • "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him." I John 4: 15 & 16
5. Spirit of God's Son:
  • "And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father." (God knows His own sons.)
6. Peace:
  • "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1 (If you don't have peace in your heart, it ain't of God. Feeling grouchy? You need more of Jesus!)
7. Sheep:
  • "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand." John 10:27-28 (If you are His sheep, you will hear His voice and once you're in His hand, nobody can take you out of there. Ever.)
8. Truth:
  • "Pilate therefore said unto Him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears My voice." John 18:37 (If you want the truth, you'll find it.)
  • "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by Me." John 14:6 (Jesus is the Truth. Accept no substitutes.)
9. Proof:
  • "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." I Thessalonians 5:21 (Hang onto the good stuff and let go of the dead weights.)
10. Power:
  • "For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2Timothy 1:7 (If it is scaring you, it's not of God. Fear is of the Devil.)

The Bible says a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways, so that's why it's important for our own sanity, well-being and happiness to be "fully persuaded" about what we believe. Don't be afraid of being dogmatic if you're dogmatic for the Truth.

Be Strong!

In the movie, "Australia", starring Nicole Kidman, there's a part where her unofficially adopted son is being taken away from her to a Catholic mission. They cry out for each other and he implores her not to let them take him away. When she sees there is nothing she can do to prevent it, she tells him,

"You be brave."

Somehow, just hearing those words is all it takes. Just focusing on being brave can turn the entire situation around. Yes, there are still trials and tests, but it seems your focus has changed from feeling sorry for yourself to helping others around you.

Brothers and sisters, I believe that this is the hour when we need to be brave.

Daniel 11:32 says, "And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits."

Not only will the people who know their God be strong, but we will be doing exploits! Picture that!
That's a picture of God's people being anointed in the power and boldness of the Holy Spirit! "For without Him, we can do nothing!"

The Tribulation will open the curtains on the stage of a demonstration of the power and love of God as a witness to all nations. Now's the time to prepare by memorizing our lines from the Word of God.

Over and over in the Word of God, God Himself tells us just like Lady Ashley in "Australia",

"BE BRAVE."

Why should we be brave? How can we be brave?

Because God is with us! Not only is He with us, but He won't fail us or leave us alone. That's why!

Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not nor be afraid of them! for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."
