Matthew 24: 15 says, "When ye therefore shall see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16. Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17. Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house."
This is another sign that Jesus, Himself makes very, very clear.
When we see some sort of idol standing in the "holy place", (Jerusalem is the place referred to in the Bible as the Holy Place), then we should flee to somewhere safe. In fact, we should flee so quickly that we don't have time to take anything out of our houses.
Verse 21 says: "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be."
Then, it seems that another major occurrence will be false prophets jumping out of the wood-work!
Matthew 24:23,24: "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24. For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
The way I see it, if you are still alive at that time and you are a follower and believer of Christ, you are one of His elect. That means you've been elected to live during the great tribulation! Hallelujah? That makes you one of the "very elect". You won't be deceived by these amazing false prophets because you know the Word! Right?
Something that must happen before the end is that the Gospel shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations.
Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."
For the first time in the history of the world, the internet has made it possible for people around the world to receive information instantaneously. The Gospel has gone forth over the Internet, as well as by radio, TV, news medias, telephone and word of mouth into all the world. People in the furthest jungles and highest mountains are hearing the Gospel.
It's time to choose sides! Are you going to join the winning team or wash out with the losers? And, when I say, "losers", I mean big losers. They will be history's biggest losers of all time, sold out for the Antichrist. Like Esau, of old, they will willingly sell their birthrights for a morsel of bread!
No doubt, during the tribulation, we Christians left on the earth will be spreading the good news whole-heartedly. In fact, I believe that God will keep us alive to do so! He will perform miracles to keep us alive and able to keep preaching it.
